Cultural life in the village in almost none existent or sporadic at best. Each cultural event becomes a focal point in the life of the villagers. As part of Sahman’s cultural projects we have on numerous occasions invited various groups and individuals as well as journalists to covers the issues faced by the villagers. In 2014, the Hay Aspet Charitable Foundation (Armenian Knights) visited the village for the first time. The young members of the group organized a unique concert for the villagers as well as a two-day camping trip with the children of Berkaber. The Foundation also signed an agreement of cooperation with the school and donated literature to the ever growing school library.
With Sahman’s assistance, a day of remembrance was organized to commemorate the lives of the heroes who fought for and protected the village during the war in the early 1990’s.
In 2015, a group of students from the Yerevan State University, headed by the Primate of the Armenian Church Diocese of Tavush Bishop Bagrat Galstanyan also visited the school and organized a day of cultural events for the villagers of Berkaber.

Sahman has installed a Weather Underground weather station in Berkaber. WU uses satellite imagery as well as on the ground stations to accurately predict local weather anomalies. The station in Berkaber will allow those in Ijevan, Berd and Noyemberyan to get detailed and accurate 10-day weather forecasts for their areas. The services are rendered free of charge and are beneficial for local farmers and beekeepers.
