According to our research and further proven by our own experiences in Tavush, Armenia has a huge untapped potential for small business initiatives. Working with the people of Berkaber and seeing this potential first hand allowed us to further understand and map potential small businesses and those who wish to set them up by assisting in the development of these initiatives.
As part of the European Union’s funded Targeted Initiative for Armenia, 6 potential business owners were identified, all of whom were returning seasonal migrants. The initiatives included: a small facility for storage and refrigeration of fruit and vegetables, a workshop making building blocks to be used in construction, reaping machine services, greenhouse cultivation and a carpentry workshop.
